Construction Design and Management
The Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2007 place significant statutory duties on clients, planning supervisors, designers and contractors.
The purpose of the regulations is to improve the health and safety record of the construction industry by putting in place procedures to plan, co-ordinate and manage health and safety throughout all stages of a construction project, including post hand over operation and maintenance.
Clients must select and resource the appointment of a competent CDM Co-ordinator and provide all necessary information relevant to health and safety on the project.
Burnet Bell are founder members of the Association of Project Safety, and the director responsible, Iain Macrae, has gained extensive experience of design, building construction, construction procedures and co-operation with contractors on a wide range of building types and project procurement methods. He is aware on a practical basis of the best ways in which to implement the CDM Regulations with particular regard to the designer's and CDM Co-ordinator's roles. Burnet Bell consider complience with CDM Regulations to be a priority, and where we are also commissioned as CDM Co-ordinator, the project health and safety information pack is prepared.
